Personal Outlook for 2012

For the last 20 + years i am doing basically the same, keep my working hours to a minimum and travel as much as i can. Thus i have ample time to do, what i like most - see the world, play music, make schnaps and place a flutter. I don´t expect 2012 to be much different. Also i want to stay faithful to my  guidelines " Maintain peace of mind " and " Never act like an a..hole because of money ". Anyway, for you, the avid reader of this blog, i wish the very best of luck for 2012, may things go your way.

26.12.2011 " Boxing Day " in England

The biggest sports day in England and probably everything with four legs and a tail participates in some sort of race. Since i am not involved in the Christmas shopping frenzy i had some time on hand to pick out some selections hopefully  finishing off the year with a handsome profit.
Turf--King George VI Chase    Kauto Star  @ 4.33
Kauto Star rolled back the years, when he won the Betfair Chase in November. Trainer Paul Nicholls and connections are currently very happy with him and there is no doubt i will back this amazing animal.
--Feltham Novice Chase   Silviniaco Conti  @ 5.50
Topclass-prospect from the Nicholls stable. He faces very strong rivals, but at those odds he is worth a punt with a workingmans stake.
Football fourfold--- Middlesbrough vs. Hull > 2.5 goals @ 2.20
Leyton Orient vs. MK Dons > 2.5 goals @1.83
                               Huddersfield vs. Chesterfield > 2.5 goals @ 1.66
Walsall vs. Sheffield Wed. 2 or 3 goals @ 2.00
NFL ( by Matt Nesbitt )--- S. F. 49ers at Seattle Seahawks / Seattle + 2.0 Handicap
                                           Oakland Raiders at K. C. Chiefs / Kansas - 2.5 Handicap
                                           ( both played at 24.12. )
*** Results - Turf : Kauto Star won Silviniaco Conti 2nd -  Football: LWLW -  NFL: Push L

Latest news from German politicians

- President Wulff ( CDU, lawyer ) is involved in an credit scandal, disclosing proximity to a dubious businessman. Not the first time he has to fight such allegations.
- Berlins justice senator Michael Braun ( CDU, lawyer )  stepped down after 11 days in office, because of shady real estate sales.
- Deputy Frank Mindermann ( CDU, banker ) stepped down after approaching 14 and 15 year old girls.
And then there is Christian Lindner ( FDP ), the "Jude Law" look-a-like and latest quitter. Chris was the general secretary of a party, that belongs to the government-coalition with roundabout 2 % of voters approval, but has nonetheless  five !! ministers in its ranks. He was regarded a great political talent, although his professional career is a history of failure. As with many other German politicians you rise your eyebrows and ask yourself, what qualifies and entitles them to rule us.
They keep telling us, what a great thing democracy is, but besides being a debt making machine, it seems to be a basin for politicians with rotten moral standards.

10.12.2011 It´s " El Classico " again

Make no mistake, these two sides despise each other and we probably see the usual overheated encounter between Real and Barca. The match can go either way and i looked for a different betting angle. Especially Real Madrid has some hot-blooded players with Ramos and Pepe and Paddy Power offers odds of 26 for Sergio Ramos and odds of 21 for Pepe to get marching orders.Attempting enough for a small investment with a saver in the " Both to score " market @ 1.57.***1:3 and no red card shown. Unfortunately Ramos got away with a yellow card after a vicious tackle.

Trip to Copacabana ( Bolivia )

Became necessary after my 90 days in Peru expired. Copacabana is located at the shore of Lake Titicaca and i always liked it for its relaxed atmosphere.

Merkozy ( or Sarkel, if you like ) completely lost the plot

Their latest idea is an ammendment of the EU-contract, resulting in better control of the so called GISPI - countries ( Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Irland ). I am afraid the people of these countries won´t accept further submission and the Euro runaway train stays firmly on course towards the abysm.  Happens, when you cram a lot of different cultures and
mentalities under one hat. Looking at those chiflados to the left you think Europe is in good hands ?  Me neither. Leaving for Bolivia tonight.

Wish, Germany could shut up for 5 minutes

Seems to be impossible, since Germany has always to be in the middle of something. Financial crisis, dioxin scandal, a damn germ called EHEC and the ongoing Greece desaster, now temporarily replaced by right- wing terrorism. Politicians are argonizing, how to solve the problem and imo stop transfering billions of Euros to foreign countries and stop transfering competencies to Brussels would be a good start. Patriotism is the last thing on my mind, but when huge amounts of peoples money are spent for questionable purposes and sovereignty is partly handed over to eurocrats, who are not democratically elected and were sent to Brussels, because their homeland has no more use for them, some folks boil over. Germany these days is nuttier than a " Madness " - video.

Cheltenham 2012 Festival Antepost Treble

Champion Hurdle - Hurricane Fly @ 2.75 ( left )*** 3rd
David Nicholson Mares Hurdle - Quevega @ 2.50*** won
World Hurdle - Big Bucks @ 1.80*** won
All three are top-class performer and proven over course & distance. I expect them to make short work with the opposition and get on, before the odds shorten any further.

Earthquake hits Peru

The shake occured in the coastal region near Ica with a magnitude of 6.9 and was felt in Cusco too. Scary stuff. Just read an interview with the Peruvian foreign minister. Made some good reading in my book, although Michael Palominos comment certainly bears some truth. I know some expats here, who run a business  and are harassed by authorities. Also most mayors seem to be kleptocrats and red tape in connection with corruption is widespread.
http://www.welt.de/debatte/article13687477/Nicht-der-Sueden-der-Norden-provoziert-Krisen.html Meanwhile German foreign minister Westerwelle  let us recently know, that he and his husband bought a villa in Mallorca for 1.9 Million Euros.

Need to vent more steam here

When chancellora M. and French  Pres. Sarkozy stick their heads together, German taxpayers know some more of their precious hard earned will be burnt for a country, that will not get his act together, as long it belongs to the eurozone. Thanks to a financial trick called " leverage " we are looking at a trillion  now and Germany guarantees for a large portion of it. Mind-boggling, isn´t it. German politics these days is nothing but appalling. Chancellora M. only tries to keep the financial markets happy, her finance minister Schäuble is a notorious liar, the oppositon is a complete drop out and the parliament is full with lazy dumbfucks, who voted for the euro bailout fund without knowing any details. http://anti-merkel.blog It is getting more ridiculous. Bureaucrats of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) went to China and Norway to solicit investments. The Norwegians turned them down right away.

Few things are more entertaining,...

... than a birthday party with peruvian kids and a clown. Talking about unspoiled children, hard to find nowadays in the somewhat screwed up western society.

It is official now...

... seven billion butts are pushing and shoving on Planet Earth (don´t blame me ). Will the latest arrival has parents, which expect him to speak fluid Mandarin Chinese at the tender age of three ? Will he be born in an african refugee camp and never enjoy an halfway pleasant day in his life ? Was he born for the sole purpose, that his single mother wants to obtain some welfare money ? I will never know, why so many people keep reproducing, completely ignoring the circumstances their offspring has to live in.

Glamour twin is in town...

Mick Jagger arrived in Cusco and people are fallen over each other to get a glimpse of him. While i like some of the early " Stones " - stuff, my arousal because of his presence is confined.

The madness continues...

Actually i didn´t want to pollute my blog with another post featuring chancellora Merkel, also known as "IM Erika" ( that´s right, she was a Stasi mole, read more here ), the weather vane or Miss Energy Pirouette. But her recent annoucement to hand over more billions of peoples hard earned to banks in need winds me up. Germany a democracy ? I would rather call it a party dictatorship, whose government continues to ignore the will of the vast majorty of the people. M. demands more democracy in eastern european countries, but if a member of her own party has a deviating opinion ( not everyone in the CDU is a bootlicker ) she unleahes her bandog R. Pofalla to bring him back in line. Why she acts like that ? Simple. She is under the thumb from "Deutsche Bank" boss J. Ackermann.

Kamikase Bar closed it´s doors

An icon of Cusco's nightlife and well known among travellers from all over the world, it has ceased to operate now. One final beer and that was it.

Nice one. People take it to the streets  adressing the utter insanity inflicted by banksters and speculators. The organisation has my moral support.

Green Bay Packers to win Super Bowl XLVI

I am not a big fan of American Football, but that is secondary, if a good betting opportunity emerges. Green Bay has already won the Bowl last season making me some decent money, while the new season is well underway and the Packers are 3-0 after three games. Still there are odds of 5.6 on offer with Betfair, what will do for me.

Hamburg - Some homeless had found a shelter underneath a bridge, ...

... when chief officer M. Schreiber - a social democrat- came to the conclusion their sight would disturb tourists and action is needed. So at first rocks were placed, but the stubborn homeless used them as pillows and then a downright ugly fence was erected to keep them away for a mere 18000.- Euros. My hometown was once cool and likable. Not anymore or what is likable about a city, which is meanwhile almost completely  committed to the wealthy and tourists or a Reeperbahn, which is occupied by cohorts of juvenile drinkers and knifers ? Shame on you, Mr. Schreiber.

Well done, Kweku

Kweku A. worked as a trader for the Swiss bank UBS and had billions of play money at his disposal. Not one , who fiddles around with small change he went in big, but lost his winning touch and sent 2 bn dollars down the drain. The USA were one day of the brink of illiquidity and the next day Pres. Obama released a 300 bn dollar program to boost  the economy. In Germany chancellora Merkel and her finance minister W. Schäuble ( both need to be sacked urgently, read more here ) are sending billions of Euros down south to a barrel without bottom. I am watching all this in disbelief and wonder, where those follies are taking us.

Much needed change of cultures

Leaving the suffocating prosperity of Germany with its by-products - anxious minds, silly trend sports, financial mayhem caused  by banksters on taxpayers expense, wage dumping, SUV's cleaned every saturday at 2 o'clock, latte-macchiato-mothers, self-proclaimed experts, class divided health insurance, cardiovascular diseases, arms deals with villains, prizes and awards for who knows what - to mention a few, for Peru. A country, that is probably  stone last in many categories and never won a sports medal. Guess, that makes  it so appealing to me. And thanks to Ladbrokes for sponsoring the airfare.

That bloke here is Christian von Boetticher (CDU)...

after a confessed relationship with an 16 - year old schoolgirl , forcing him to step down. Chris is another lawyer-turned-politician and a member of the student association "Landsmannschaft Slesvico - Holsatia v. m. L! Cheruscia zu Kiel " ( ürgs ) and after having checked his biografy i would assume he never spent a day in his life doing proper work. That seems to be a major qualification nowadays for higher assignments and i am afraid German politics is littered with shady characters like him. Sad and sickening.

Women Football World-Championships 2011

Some of the games were the most exiting sport i have seen lately and you got to love the superb japanese team. And for all the men, who are still moaning and groaning about ladies football i want to quote Benjamin Franklin "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do."

Deutsches Derby 2.

My selection looked a lot better, than he eventually ran.

Deutsches Derby in Hamburg

With the now confirmed entry of BROWN PANTHER i cannot resist a punt. Brown Panther is owned by football great Michael Owen ( lucky bastard ) and trained by the shrewd Tom Dascombe, who wouldn't bring the horse over the channel without having a lively chance of winning methinks. He is in fine fettle after a recent Ascot win ( see picture ) and also a son of a former Derby winner, so i expect a good run for my money.

Medal for Merkel (" IM Erika " )

The news, that the otherwise respected Mr. Obama handed over the Medal Of Freedom to chancellora Merkel left me flabbergasted. In my opinion her biography does not vindicate that. She is mostly clueless, starts nearly every sentence with the words "I believe...". She is hesitant and made maybe one decision while in office - no money for Greece. The cheque was in the mail three days later. Under her regime the perils of capitalism are alive and well. She is opportunistic and her biggest strength is probably her knowledge, how to remove people, who could jeopardize her position. But then again prizes and awards are like hemorrhoids - at some point every ass gets them.

Champions League Real Madrid - FC Barcelona

Real Madrid most impressive of late. They won the Copa Del Rey against Barca and followed up trouncing Valencia in fine style. Sill the bookies see them as outsiders at Bernabeu (!) and odds of 2.70 with Paddy Power can not be denied. Real Madrid to win.***0:2 What a stinker of a game and watching this horse race gave me much more pleasure , than that bunch of jackasses playing ball.

The Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase

My old fav Kauto Star with 11 years now probably too old to win at the highest level finnished third. But this race showed the whole beauty of the sport. No trashtalking idiots nor ridiculous
referee decisions. Just nice fellows in the saddle and their beasts.

15.01.2011 King George VI Chase

Steeplechase legend Kauto Star (FR) tries to win this race for the fifth time and if he puts up a clean round of jumping is nearly impossible to beat. Odds of 4/5 are on the short side, but this bet will certainly not pass me.***3rd
